Brian Geller, Photoartist
“The key to photography is light and how to make people and products look great.” – Brian Geller
As a young child Brian would always be taking pictures. His photography skills were learned at an early age and developed through various high school programs including a photography co-op program where he learned commercial and textile photography. Following his introduction to photography and art, Brian went on to further his studies of photography with a two year course at Humber College. During that time he mastered film and transparency, use of 35mm, 2¼” x 2¼” and 4” x 5” view camera formats. All assignments were shot on film and hand developed to create colour and black & white photos. Brian graduated from the Humber College Creative Photography Program in 1988. |
Brian opened up his first studio storefront in the Junction area of downtown Toronto in 1990. This was his first introduction into the world of business and the excitement of survival in a world unknown to him as a young 20 year old right out of College. He developed his own style for photographing Portraits, Weddings, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, and Children, as well as Actor & Model headshots, photo resumes and portfolios.
Brian has experience in several aspects of photography including:
Industrial photography projects - large machinery on location, industrial processes and manufacturing
Commercial product photography - cosmetics labs, food, clothing & fashion, and fine art for galleries
Corporate and Event work - business portraits, company group photos, golf tournaments, creative advertising images, presentations, and ceremonies.
Other avenues brought him even closer into the downtown core where he immersed himself into the world of talent and modelling photography.
During the past 12 years, Brian has been doing freelance photography with hundreds or sports organizations, childcare centres and schools. Graduation portraits and dance schools keep him busy travelling across Ontario.
Brian’s love of nature and the outdoors has brought him to the Haliburton area where he gets engulfed in nature and wildlife photography. Wildlife in in that area often includes wolves, moose, deer and many different species of birds. His outpost camp is available to him all year long and, as such, he often travels by snowmobile or ATV to reach that secluded lookout or peaceful foggy lake destination. Some of his favorite winter scenes include ice waterfalls and frozen lakes.
Brian likes to travel to interesting destinations to continue to grow his portfolio of scenic photoart. His personal favorite places to travel include the Netherlands, Spain and Paris. He has also travelled to the Middle East and all over the United States and Caribbean Islands.
Currently Brian has joined up with us at Golden Eagle Art Gallery where we have an extensive collection of Fine Art Originals, Limited Edition Prints, Giclee Reproductions and modern Art. Our highly skilled craftsman picture framer has all the tools to frame any artwork and maintain the archival integrity of your art or memorabilia.
