Golden Eagle Art Gallery is pleased to offer an extensive collection of world-renowned artworks by Canadian wildlife artist, Robert Bateman. World-travelled and well versed, Bateman always tells a great story about each of his creations. Here is what he has to say about this piece:
"A few years ago, we were permitted to visit the panda reserve at Wolong in the Szechwan Province of China. One tree in particular caught my eye. It was festooned with long streamers of usneu, a type of lichen which resembles, but is not related to, hanging Spanish moss. Every delicate strand had captured snowflakes and hoarfrost. It seemed an appropriate setting, with its delicacy and drama, for the symbol of our fragile web of life and the giant panda."
