Golden Eagle Art Gallery is pleased to offer an extensive collection of world-renowned artworks by Canadian wildlife artist, Robert Bateman.  World-travelled and well versed, Bateman always tells a great story about each of his creations. Here is what he has to say about this piece:

"In this scene, there is a frost on everything, a fresh coating of snow-like icing. I enjoyed painting the rich, organic texture of the bits of frosting on the bark and the grain of the base of the cedar stump. You may notice the tracks traversing the lower left foreground. These are the tracks of cross country skiers, who treat this landscape with respect and make the most of it, as does the coyote. Forests like this one have become accessible to those who enjoy winter recreation."
